The Role: 

We’re looking for a strong mid-level Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with 4-6 years experience who is passionate about understanding customers’ needs and ensuring a quality software lifecycle. As an engineer in test, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and developing scalable, integration and automation tests using Python and/or Typescript for the API and UI. You will collaborate with talented engineers, product owners, and the co-founders to turn innovative concepts into reality. What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable API and UI integration test suites using Typescript or Python, Docker, Github Actions, and AWS.
  • Partner in the design, code review, and testing of all features, to ensure our customers can use a stable platform
  • Adapt to customer needs, ensuring the organization tests the core areas, but maintains the ability to change the product as we receive feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to define testing requirements and deliver the product that materially impacts the business and solves customers’ needs.
  • Build seamless, maintainable backend tooling and scripting to support a great developer experience.
  • Roll up your sleeves and code, showcasing the elegance and efficiency of your experience and problem-solving.
  • Partner with other engineers in a collaborative way, fostering a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement.
  • Comfort level at an early stage company where duties include manual testing, writing tickets, reviewing engineers code review, and documentation.

Experience we’re seeking:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a Software Developer in Test Engineer, writing frameworks at scale.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks with Python and Typescript a must.
  • Working knowledge of Cypress or Playwright for ui automation, 
  • Strong experience with GraphQL API testing using jest and pytest.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS.
  • Experience in building integration test frameworks from scratch and integrating them into Github Actions or equivalent.
  • Focus on the developer experience to ensure all developers can contribute to the integration testing.
  • Personal ownership and pride in shipping high-quality, scalable and clean code. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset.
  • Excitement to adapt to customer feedback and adopt this feature change into the integration test suite.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
