The head coach is responsible for directing all aspects of the university's intercollegiate women's basketball program. This 12-month position will involve an instructional component. Possible assignments include courses in health and physical education. The successful candidate must be committed to recruiting student athletes capable of meeting the rigors of a demanding liberal arts curriculum and competing at the highest levels of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The head coach must embrace and be willing to model the core values of USAO and the NAIA, including sportsmanship, citizenship, and academic and personal integrity. A commitment to gender equity within intercollegiate athletics is also required. The head coach must also provide leadership in promoting the women's basketball program to all the university's constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, fans, and booster groups.
The successful candidate should have a master's degree and successful experience as a coach and teacher. Higher education experience is preferred, but candidates with exemplary records at the secondary level will be considered. The successful candidate must demonstrate a high degree of initiative and observe high standards of personal and professional integrity.
