Tesla is currently seeking a world-class Payroll Tax Accountant. Candidates should have a foundational general ledger accounting background. Responsibilities include key internal and external reporting aspects within the Finance Team. They will collaborate with Payroll, HR, FP&A, and other departments to provide clear financial analysis. Top candidates will be driven to grow and provide Tesla excellence.

• Maintain current knowledge of payroll and taxation requirements for US and international markets
• Reconcile weekly and quarterly tax reports to assure accurate payment and timely filing
• Journal entry preparation and validation for US and international payroll
• Payroll cash forecasting
• Ensure compliance of payroll Sox controls
• Perform regular data audits to assure completeness and accuracy of records
• Internal financial reporting and analysis
• Track setup of new payroll and location system codes to ensure reporting compliance
• Financial period close duties and account reconciliation
• Assist in preparation of annual tax documents and reports

• Ability to accurately handle large and complex data sets
• Ability to manage and deliver multiple priorities in a fast-paced culture
• 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience with a global employer
• Excellent judgment with analytical and problem-solving mindset
• MS Office (Excel) and computer skills proficiency required. Proficiency in Power Query preferred
• Accounting degree preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Flexible with schedule to meet accelerated financial close deadlines
• Cognos BI experience preferred
• Experience with payroll and tax accounting preferred
