Job Description:

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for an Accountant from our Raleigh, NC location. This role will be tasked with preparing and maintaining financial and business transactions predominantly focused on the programs & homeowners business units within IAT that are produced through Managing General Agents (MGA's).

This role works a hybrid schedule from an IAT Office in Raleigh, NC. The hybrid schedule reflects our values (thinking and acting like an owner, collaboration, and teamwork) as it requires working from the office with colleagues and other disciplines Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.

Responsibilities:

Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis Perform various accounting functions including recording journal entries, preparing reconciliations, and cash flow management Managing the reconciliation of insurance accounts, including premium receivable, claims payable and reinsurance recoverable Work closely with internal and external programming and other staff to ensure accuracy and completeness of electronic data interfaces from third parties to IAT systems Manage monthly settlements with third parties; Assist with budgeting and variance analysis Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications:

Must-Have:

Bachelors' degree in finance or accounting with 2 years of accounting experience or equivalent Equivalent is defined as Masters' degree with 1 year of relevant experience Must be able to work independently Think critically Strong attention to detail Demonstratable knowledge of Excel skills (Must have strong skills) To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.
Preferred to Have:

Insurance or reinsurance experience General Ledger (ERP) Experience - preferably Workday CPA designation or CPA candidate Public accounting experience
