Responsible for providing seed agronomic technical support, solutions, and advice to the sales team and customers on Nutrien’s products and services for seed including demo plots, strip trials, plot tours, and data collection through pre-sale to implementation.   

  

Assists in the development of sales, operations, capital budgets and forecasts by gathering, compiling, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating market intelligence and market research information.  

  

At level II, the incumbent is expected to be working independently with general supervision, using prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems, typical relevant experience is 2-4+ years. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Developed trusted relationships with team members, customers, and key stakeholders. 

  • Provide coaching to crop consultants on seed for our grower customers 

  • Provide agronomic advice for products and services to staff and customers.  

  • Develop and facilitate agronomic training programs and materials on existing and emerging products, technologies, and sales strategies. 

  • Provide sales analytics and interpret market intelligence and market research. 

  • Ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgement in decision making. 

  • Assist in the development of sales, capital budgets, and forecasts.  

  • Analyze customer requirements and illustrate how Nutrien’s products and services can provide value and support to the customer.  

  • Support the seed sales team with administrative activities so they can focus on selling and closing deals.  

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft applications, SAP ERP. 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence.  

 

Required Education and Experience: 

 

  • Bachelors in Agronomy or equivalent experience  

  • 2-4 years or more of relevant experience with sales support  

  • Understanding of branch operations, product services and equipment  

  • Proficient in computer software programs (including Microsoft Office)  

  • Valid driver's license
