This position is for a full time 36 hour/week experienced Surgical Tech.
Assists in the preparation of the operating room and in the selection of surgical instruments and equipment by reviewing the surgeon preference list and conferring with the circulating nurse to gather appropriate equipmentCounts needles, sponges and instrumentsEnsures medications on the sterile field are properly labeledEnsures fluids are maintained at a safe temperatureEnsures instrumentation is cleaned at point of use, restrung, and sprayed with enzymatic cleaner.
Hands instruments to the surgeon as requested and/or required, preparing suture material for use, and assisting with gowning and gloving of surgical team in accordance with departmental protocols.
Prepares supplies for sterilization including washing and wrapping instruments.
Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program is required
