Summary
The School of Podiatric Medicine at Barry University (BUSPM) invites applications for a full-time (12-month) faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, contingent upon qualifications and experience. This role centers on teaching the Histology and Cell Biology course in the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) program. Reporting directly to the Dean of the School of Podiatric Medicine, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing the academic and scholarly mission of BUSPM.

The successful candidate will possess a distinguished record of teaching excellence, demonstrating a keen ability to mentor students in discipline-relevant experiences. Key responsibilities include engaging in scholarly activities, such as conducting research, presenting findings at professional conferences, and producing publications. Additionally, the candidate is expected to actively contribute to the department's service initiatives, participate in curriculum review and development, and be an integral part of the university community.

Essential Functions
Coordinate and deliver the Histology and Cell Biology curriculum in the classroom setting, aligning with academic and accreditation standards;

Develop, instruct, and employ multiple teaching modalities in delivery of content;

Prepare syllabi, instruction materials, lectures;

Conduct appropriate summative and formative assessment of student performance;

Administer, proctor, and grade assessments utilizing ExamSoft™;

Report grades in the Canvas™ Learning Management System;

Serve as academic advisor and mentor to pre-clinical medical students within the DPM program, providing individualized support and feedback;

Serve on established University and School-specific committees;

Attend professional meetings related to job function.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures that are consistent with the overall Mission Statement of the University and the School of Podiatric Medicine, and that comply with accreditation standards and other regulatory agencies.

Participate in strategic planning and accreditation activities, as needed;

Participate in student recruitment and admission selection.

Other duties as assigned by the Dean.

Qualifications/Requirements
Doctorate in Anatomy or a closely related discipline from an accredited university.

Minimum of three years full-time Anatomy teaching in a graduate level medical school setting;

Demonstrated high-level teaching expertise in didactic and laboratory courses using digital modalities;

Strong commitment to teaching a diverse population of students.

High level of proficiency in using MS Office suite;

Familiarity with online examination systems, e.g., ExamSoft;

Experience in using learning management systems, e.g., Canvas or Blackboard a necessity;

Ability to plan ahead, anticipate needs and adapt to changes as new information becomes available;

Excellent communication skills for preparing documents related to courses and other committee-related documents;
