What this position entails
IntelliScript's Information Technology has been a key part of our success and is critical to our future. In this position, you will have responsibility to support IntelliScript's DevOps strategy, assisting with automation and improving our developer experience. Leveraging your familiarity with DevOps processes, platforms and systems, you will help develop, enhance, and maintain IntelliScript's CI/CD pipelines. This position will emphasize incremental improvements to our DevOps strategy by understanding the needs of our stakeholders and working with the DevOps team to deliver new features and capabilities that empower our users to deliver code in a self-service, repeatable, automated, and secure manner.
What you'll be doing
The DevOps Intern will have plenty of opportunity observe as well as develop their own hands-on skills around tasks such as:
- Building and releasing pipeline capabilities
- Identifying and implementing release automation best practices
- Understanding our current developer experience, and finding ways to improve it
- Collaborating with development, system engineers, architecture, and database administrator teams
- Analyzing CICD tooling, and recommending fit for purpose solutions
- Empowering development teams by learning the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and automating manual processes
What we need
- Current or recent enrollment in a technical school or college for a degree in Information Technology
- Ability to ramp up quickly on both new technologies and existing technologies
- Ability to think both tactically & strategically
- Excellent documentation skills
- Excellent technical design, problem solving, and debugging skills
- Excellent collaborative skills, with strong written and verbal communication
- Self-motivated team player who can run with a project and is willing to pitch in as needed
Wish list
- Experience with DevOps tooling & practices (CI-CD orchestration software, database automation, configuration-as-code, developing/improving the SDLC process)
- Experience performing build and release configuration & management
- Experience architecting, implementing, and supporting containers
- Experience with application development or infrastructure operational support-related technical expertise (preferably in an Agile/Scrum environment)
- Experience working with the following: PowerShell, C#, SQL, Javascript, .NET/.NET Core applications, APIs, NuGet and Microsoft Windows infrastructure
- Experience with database change automation
- Experience with Atlassian suite of products (Jira, Confluence), Azure DevOps Services, or GitHub
- Experience with cloud services, primarily AWS
Compensation: The range is $18 - $34 per hour, depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
Location: This position will be based out of the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI; however, candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the U.S. The anticipated closure date for this role is September 30, 2024.
