Radiologic Technologist

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. This individual conducts general radiographic, fluoroscopic and portable procedures as assigned. The Radiologic Technologist performs procedures that will require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. He/she assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. The Radiologic Technologist provides appropriate age-specific care to neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations.    

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION REQUIRED

High School Diploma or equivalent

Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology

Meets requirements for registry by ARRT

EDUCATION PREFERRED  

None

LICENSURES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Current ARRT registry with card on file in Director’s office

LICENSURES OR CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED  

None

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

One year or more as a staff technologist  

Adequate capabilities as determined by department administrator
