Championship Interns will work alongside full-time championship staff on many aspects of the event. Primary areas of concentration will include sales/sponsorship, marketing, operations, volunteers, and overall event execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to work independently on multiple projects, and a willingness to go above and beyond for tournament stakeholders. Interns will be asked to take ownership of key projects and will gain strong professional experience. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in sports management, marketing, communications, event management, or related field.

While interns will help with all aspects of the event, each position will have its own dedicated area of focus. In total, 2-3 candidates will be selected to fill the following categories:
Sales & Sponsorship
  • Sponsor Liaison
  • Pro-Am
  • Honorary Observers 
  • Prospecting, Proposals, Contract Management & Invoicing
  • Asset Fulfillment
  • Hospitality & Sponsor Activation
    • Skills/traits needed: outgoing personality with excellent communication skills, ability to multitask and work well with others. Attention to detail is also a must. 

Marketing/Public Relations
  • Social Media
  • Media & Public Relations
  • Promotions & Community Events
  • Sales & Marketing Materials
  • Tickets & Credentials
  • Website
    • Skills/traits needed: Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, graphic design, video editing is preferred. Ability to think outside the box and be creative.

  • Volunteer Program Management
  • Player & Caddie Amenities
  • Special Events
  • Volunteer meals/activities 
  • Charitable Program
    • Skills/traits needed: outgoing personality with excellent communication skills, ability to multitask and work well with others. Attention to detail is also a must.

  • Tour Operations
    • Skills needed: previous operations experience/general understanding of event management is preferred but not required. Attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to work independently. Manual labor is included, must be able to lift/move heavy items.

Tickets/Merchandise  
  • Ticketing fulfillment & servicing 
  • Tournament merchandise 
  • Track sales & inventory
  • Fulfill online orders
  • Sponsor ticket packages 
    • Skills/traits needed: attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to multitask.

Application Information:  
  • If internship is part of college curriculum/class credit, the internship will be unpaid. Otherwise, internship will be paid pursuant to applicable Missouri minimum wage and overtime requirements.
  • Internship timeframe: Mid-January (flexible depending on availability) through May 30, 2025.
  • Hours: For the first month or two, 20-30 hours per week, then increased hours thereafter with a full workload in the last four weeks leading up to the event.
