The Opportunity

The ML Wastewater Maintenance Tech II is responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining the Mille Lacs Wastewater facility and equipment.

What You Get to Do

Operate pumps, control panels, and other wastewater equipment. Perform periodic checks on equipment and systems. Assist in routine maintenance and repairs of wastewater equipment. Monitor plant and collection system. Service and general maintenance of related machinery Maintain accurate service records for all equipment. Supervise Maintenance Assistant and assign tasks as necessary.  Create bench sheets for monitoring purposes. Read graphs, conversion charts and interpret information. Due to operations and safety standards, strict attendance is required. Other duties as assigned that are related to this role.

What Qualifies You

Ability to obtain Certification as a Class D Wastewater licensee issued by the Minnesota Environmental Protection Agency within 18 months after hiring. Ability to inspect machinery and equipment for defects and problems and the ability to troubleshoot. Ability to read meters and charts and maintain accurate records of operations. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, officials, and the public. Knowledge of the occupational hazards connected with high voltage and necessary safety precautions. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be eligible for coverage under the company's automobile insurance policy. Must possess computer skills. Must possess ability to work independently. Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
