St. Charles Madras, previously Mountain View Hospital, first opened its doors in 1967. The hospital worked closely with St. Charles Health System through a management agreement for many years before formally joining the St. Charles system in 2013.
The Bean Foundation donated the land on which St. Charles Madras sits. The hospital that stands today is the original hospital seven additions/renovations have been made over the last four decades.
St. Charles Madras is a critical access hospital with 25 licensed beds and 240 employees. The hospital provides surgical services, imaging, intensive care, a Family Birthing Center, medical and emergency care and an outpatient laboratory.
About Madras Oregon:
Located about 45 minutes north of Bend, Madras is home to deep desert canyons, river gorges and other unexpected delights an indoor aquatic center with a waterslide and a lazy river, a Saturday market in the summer, golf, hiking, and a skate park. Madras is also a gateway to Culver, the home of the Cove Palisades State Park and Opal Springs. World-class fly-fishing as well as white-water rafting down the Deschutes River are just minutes away.
