Job Summary

The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing Undergraduate Program is seeking a Special Title Series (tenure-eligible) Assistant Professor. This position is a 10-month appointment with an anticipated Distribution of Effort of about 50-70% Teaching and Advising, 0-20% Clinical Practice Activities, 10% Research and Scholarly Activity, and 5% Service/Professional Development which will be reviewed annually. We anticipate a start date on October 1, 2024.

This position, based on site in Lexington, KY, and will assist in the undergraduate program. This position requires an individual to provide in person classroom and online instruction, supervision, advising, and mentoring related to the delivery of care to medical surgical, adult health, and advanced medical-surgical (high-acuity) nursing populations in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. Additionally, the candidate should make contributions to scholarly practice, and in advancing nursing professionalism. 

The Assistant Professor role may require you to potentially teach online courses and provide clinical instruction in other areas as needed and based upon program needs. This faculty position may allocate up to 20% for clinical practice. Collaboration with faculty within the College, administrators and staff is required. The candidate should have experience with advising and successful teaching of adult students, and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. The required education and experience include an earned doctoral degree in nursing or related field. Minimum of two (2) years full-time or equivalent nursing experience withing the last five(5) years in the nursing instruction. Clinical experience and competence in the appropriate nursing specialty of appointment. Candidate should have an active unencumbered Kentucky nursing license.
