Leavenworth VAMC is seeking to hire a Nursing Assistant to serve in our Domiciliary.
Duties
This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until February 7, 2025. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be February 26, 2024, with subsequent cut-off dates on the 1st of each month. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled.

The nursing assistant works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and is responsible for the nursing care provided to the patients assigned to him/her. The duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting veterans with activities of daily living
- Bathing and assisting in personal cleanliness and hygiene
- Assist with physical movement, such as walking or repositioning in bed
- Making beds, changing linens when soiled, straightening for comfort
- Maintain environment that is safe and clean
- Assist with laundry
- Record ability to perform activities of daily living
- Record vital signs
- Assist in admission, transfer or discharge processes
- Any other duty as assigned
