POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Divisional Controller reports to the Corporate VP, Finance
  • Located in Lewisville TX or Duluth GA
  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid

We are looking for a Division Controller of our largest division to oversee all areas of accounting operations to ensure that financial statements for the division are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and company policies. This individual will manage accounting and finance team members to achieve favorable outcomes on time and within budget. The successful candidate has a broad understanding of US GAAP and extensive experience leading teams to improve the month-end close process, manage the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts, maintain and continuously improve internal controls and processes for efficiency and effectiveness, and generate management reporting and analysis to inform the business of key performance metrics to enable better decisions. This position will work closely with the VP, FP&A and other division and region executives. The ability to collaborate and build relationships across the company's operations and corporate functions will be critical for success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
  • Manage the monthly financial close and streamline the close process for a more efficient close cycle
  • Drive and monitor compliance with policies and procedures; collaborate actively with the Corporate Controller to ensure policies consider business operations and workflows for operational effectiveness
  • Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly balance sheet reviews are robust, meaningful and designed to identify potential issues; proactively partner with counterparts to develop shared best practices and standard reconciliations
  • Implement improvements to the account to report cycle in cooperation with operations, inventory, and sales teams
  • Develop a high-performing accounting team through effective hiring, coaching, team member development and succession planning to support a growing business model
  • Quickly understand the current ERP systems, Navision & GE, and key processes to identify process changes necessary for a successful implementation of a new ERP system, INFOR M3
  • Be the primary contact for the annual external financial statement audit and bank compliance audits
  • Support the annual long-range plan, budget, and continuous forecast process by working closely with FP&A and operations
  • Create efficient, standard, highly controlled and documented processes to support complete and accurate financial reporting
  • Continuously monitor, develop and improve the internal control environment
  • Develop, document, and improve financial processes (manual and system automated) and procedures to build scalable processes and controls to support a growing business
  • Support internal and external customers with accurate, complete and timely deliverables

COMPETENCIES:

  • Passion for building high-functioning teams through coaching, training and development
  • Must have experience with technical accounting research and a comprehensive understanding of US GAAP
  • Has balanced professional skepticism and good judgment to determine appropriate and supportable accounting conclusions
  • Broad knowledge of accounting operations and what efficient transactional accounting looks like
  • Adaptable, comfortable with change and the ability to manage change within the organization
  • Comfortable communicating, and the ability to clearly articulate information to all levels of the organization verbally and in written form
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical financial information to non-finance individuals
  • Interact professionally with a diverse group of team members, executives, and managers and build relationships to effectively work across cross-functional teams, divisions and regions
  • Can manage a high volume of deliverables and prioritize to meet deadlines; the ability to effectively delegate tasks is essential to success

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with integrated ERP solutions required, Infor M3 preferred
  • ERP system implementation experience a plus
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience managing accounting operations of a multi-location $500M+ revenue company is preferred
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
