Position Overview

As a Concrete Paving Superintendent for Kiewit, you will play a significant part in the success for Kiewit’s South-Central District. You will function as a field supervisor and may have responsibility for multiple Foreman, and/or laborers/craft workers. You with be responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specification, workmanship, and assignment of work to accomplish the execution of the work, either directly or through General Foreman or Foreman. You will also work to maintain positive working relationships with clients, architect/engineer, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff.

District Overview

Kiewit's South Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more.  Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design.  

Location

Position based in Fort Worth, TX. This position will start under night shift. 

 

Responsibilities

•    Assists the project team by providing input to identify key success factors, timing of design and procurement deliverables, and establishing common work breakdown.
•    Provides leadership to cause the creation of organizational structure and processes required to fully execute the requirements of services and is responsible for the execution of the work, quality, subcontractor performance, and construction cost.
•    Evaluates execution for compliance to contract, design data, schedule, cost budgets, and quality, advising the project team of status, issues, impacts, risk, and cost influence factors on "to go" scope.
•    Monitors the implementation of safety orientations, safety indoctrinations, provides coaching for improvement.
•    Monitors crews for organizational structure, sizing, crew mix ratios, and wage compliance.
•    Reviews and monitors cost and man-hour budget for installation process and develops a staff, facilities, equipment, and tool requirement plan.
•    Direct knowledge in the areas of roads, highways, and bridges along with Maintenance of Traffic, Erosion Control and Safety Training required.
•    Bilingual proficiency a plus. 

Qualifications
  • 8 years of construction experience with experience being in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity (preferably working on infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, water/wastewater treatment plants etc.).
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit’s policies, procedures, and software programs.
  • Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
  • Ability to access all areas on a construction project site.
