The Johns Hopkins Hospital's Nelson 8 is a 23-bed medical floor, with capacity for 10 patients requiring telemetry. RN's on the unit care for a mix of complex medical patients, including pulmonary, endocrine, GI, renal, cardiac, and neuro. On the unit, the registered nurse will gain experience with continuous drips & IV titrations for antiarrhythmics, dopamine, nitroglycerin, heparin, and PCA pumps. The unit is very supportive of new staff. Ratio's are 1:4 and 12-hour permanent shifts are available w/flexibile self-scheduling. Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate degree, in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing, preferred.
    Applicants with an Associate Degree in nursing will be considered. per nursing guidelines, must matriculate to Bachelors of Nursing program.
  • Active BLS via AHA, American Red Cross or Military Training Network at time of hire
  • Active Maryland RN or Compact License at time of hire
