Kansas City, United States Burns & McDonnell Full time

Description

At 1898 & Co., we are improving the path to profitability for the downstream sector. With a resume that includes hundreds of projects, our team is not only a market leader in providing downstream services, but also a recognized name in the industry. With possibilities powered by experience, our purpose is to serve a brighter future. Are you ready to be a part of it?

We’re looking for someone ready to take the lead with an entrepreneurial spirit and implement our core values into their work. 1898 & Co. has the feel of a start-up, with the support of Burns & McDonnell’s endless resources. It’s what makes us unselfish collaborators. We proactively walk the talk to create bigger opportunities through sharing, communicating, and candidness. We are energy-givers who maintain a broader view of success, prioritizing others’ needs and goals in addition to our own.

1898 & Co.’s Business Lines facilitate a strategic approach to selling services, developing staff, and maintaining client relationships. A Business Line Manager’s primary responsibility is to set the near-term and long-term vision for achieving these goals within their Business Line that supports the growth of the Energy & Utilities Consulting (EUC) Practice and 1898 & Co. The Business Line Manager displays grit in their leadership role and the work they deliver. They are confident and willing to take it to the next level.

EUC provides strategic advice and support to help clients manage and optimize their energy and utility operations. In addition to “electrical energy”, EUC also helps clients manage and optimize their “chemical energy” operations, whereby chemical energy derived from clean pathways is converted to thermal and electrical energy. Hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, renewable natural gas, e-methanol, green ammonia, and electrofuels are all vying to become enduring sources of chemical energy. The enduring sources will offer low levelized costs of production, be readily scalable, and have ample, low cost feedstock. The emerging energy consultants in Oil, Gas & Chemical Consulting (OGCC) support the master planning of “chemical energy” transition, which integrates an optimized power mix, process technology, policy, and proforma.

The OGCC Emerging Energy Advisory Business Line Manager will direct service offerings and business provided by 1898 & Co. The Business Line Manager will be required to work with OGC clients to help them decarbonize but also clients in adjacent industries including agriculture and power. Business Line Managers are seller-doers, conducting sales and marketing activities and executing projects. The Business Line Manager directly engages clients to identify new work, prepares proposals, establishes project objectives, formulates project approaches, and oversees a team of consultants/engineers to meet the project objectives and provides clients with valuable and actionable deliverables.
