A healthcare center in California is seeking a Hematology/Oncology physician
to provide coverage during the winter, with potential for a long-term
assignment.
**_Practice Setting:_**
* Infusion center provides chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood/platelet transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotic therapy, rheumatoid arthritis injections, and therapeutic phlebotomies
* 7 infusion chairs
* Support staff includes 1 clinic RN, 2 MAs, 2 front office clerks, 1 quality analyst/billing, and 3 infusion RNs
* Low volume remote call coverage
* No oncology inpatient services at local hospital
** _Cases and Procedures:_**
* All aspects of diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and treatment of hematology/oncology patients
* MD oversight for both oncology/hematology clinic and infusion services
* Bone marrow biopsies referred to outside provider
** _Schedule:_**
* Monday - Thursday: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
* Night call followed by 24-hour remote call coverage Friday - Sunday
* Average daily census: 15-21 patients (Mon-Thurs) with 3/4 of appointments on MD schedule
* Average daily census: 10 patients per day (Fri-Sun) with 1-2 new patients
