Main Function:
Assists in the nonprofessional and clerical aspects of managing and operating the outpatient functions of the department.All medication-associated duties are performed under the direct supervision of licensed personnel (Registered Pharmacists).Required Job Specific Competencies:
Demonstrates skill in daily communication including effectively gathering and disseminating information.Demonstrates flexibility in decision-making and prioritizing assignments.Demonstrates skill on proactively resolving problems, recommending, and implementing continuous quality improvements.Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Information Systems (Pharmacy) and QS/1 (pharmacy outpatient system), as well as the ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Word and Excel.Provides customer service and support in a manner consistent with the health system's goals and expectations.Cashier/POS Delivery:
Retrieves order, verifies patient information, rings out orders, and opening/closing procedures.Electronic Medical Record:
Adds patient information to computer, inputs prescriptions into computer, processes refills and refill requests, basic insurance billing.Filling/Preparation of Medication:
Basic insurance billing, measures and fills containers with medications, ensures proper medication storage, re-stocks shelves.Performs a variety of routine duties requiring the use of some judgement.Daily schedule Monday through Friday rotating shifts between 8:
00-6:
00pm.Rotating weekends, every 4th weekend 9:
00-1:
00pm.PTO request required for ALL TIME OFF (requires prior approval and notice).Qualifications:
High School education or equivalency required.Pharmacy Technician certification preferred.NYS Pharmacy Technician license preferred.1-2 years pharmacy experience preferred.Contact with Others:
Daily contact with Health System personnel and customers.Impeccable customer service and attitude is always expected within the workplace or when representing the Health System.Working Conditions:
Sitting, standing, and walkingMaximum lifting of approx.
25-50 lbs.Clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated environment in controlled temperaturesPossible exposure to communicable diseasesExposure to toxic, flammable, caustic agentsPay Range:
$16.50 - $21.00Starting Pay:
