SUMMARY:
The General Manager is responsible for strategically leading the property in achieving all goals and establishing a clear vision for the future based on the documented brand story. They will be responsible for directing and coordinating personnel and activities of the hotel to instill a strong, positive associate culture, drive consistency and accountability, create memorable guest experiences and obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations to maximize profits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans, develops and implements organization policies and goalsCoordinates activities of departments within the hotel to ensure operational efficiencyDirects and coordinates promotion of hotel services to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industryAnalyzes department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budgetConfers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations requiredDirects preparation of directives to Regional Director of Operations outlining policies, programs, or operational changes that need to be implementedPromotes hotel within local associationsPerforms other related duties as assigned by management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises employees within the department(s)Indirectly supervises employees within the department(s)Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable lawsAdminister employee records, files, documentation, hiring, terminationsPrepare and support development plans and disciplinary proceedings

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

QUALIFICATIONS:

Willingness and desire to create a team learning environment and to foster a positive, fulfilling work environmentDemonstrated ability to balance department efficiency and service excellence
