Maintenance Worker

Summary

A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay.

Duties

Additional Information:

Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately March to December, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.

Major Duties:

• Performs a variety of duties of general nature in the routine operations, maintenance, and minor repairs of structures, utilities electrical and plumbing components, campgrounds, picnic areas, and visitor centers.
• Cleans restrooms, comfort stations, offices, shops, and other public use areas. Provides janitorial services as well as effecting repairs such as unplugging toilets, replacing washers, and minor repairs to surfaces such as walls, floors, and partitions.
• Performs general grounds maintenance utilizing push mowers, weedeaters, riding mower, and all terrain vehicles. Cleans and repairs grills and tables, collects and disposes of trash and litter, rebuilds tent pads, and does minor sign repair.
• Required to render moderate to heavy assistance at times to other buildings operations. Work would include snow removal around facilities, storm cleanup, painting, utility work, and assisting journeyman level employees in completing maintenance projects.
• Operates light automotive equipment, Lawn care equipment, shop tools, and power tools.
