Job DescriptionA Toolmaker Apprentice supports Class A and Class B toolmakers in mold cleaning, mold set-up tasks, and light machining. The person in this position is working through continued education to become a toolmaker. Starting Pay - Minimum $22.00 per hour.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Assist in scheduled and emergency tooling repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, cleaning and mold set-ups.
- Perform machining operations under the guidance of toolmakers to support tool room activities and schedules.
- Recommends changes to mold designs to improve life of assets and output of assets.
- Knowledge and understanding of toolroom practices and fabricating techniques.
- Follow all Key Operating Procedures, including but not limited to:
- Company and facilities policies.
- Safety-Use of proper PPE; adherence to all applicable safety rules.
- Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs)-Methods for performing work
- Standard Safe Operating Procedures (SSOP)/Good Housekeeping Standards.
- Communicate in a positive and respectful manner to resolve all issues.
- Ability to complete all documentation accurately.
- Ability to ask for help when the need arises.
- Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Two-year post high school education in machine trades
Specific skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude, strong mathematical skills, strong organizational skills.
Equipment & Machinery: Basic knowledge of machine operations.
Computer Experience & Software: Basic computer knowledge/use.
