Job Description:
As a union millwright at Alltech Engineering Corp, you will work in a variety of industrial environments. You will utilize your skills and experience to move and install critical industrial machinery and material handling systems, and troubleshoot, test, and perform maintenance tasks on industrial equipment.

Alltech millwrights maintains machinery like conveyors, pumps, robots, tanks, and motors. Duties include reading plans, dismantling, overhauling, leveling, aligning, assembling, and installing equipment. Alltech millwrights must work with precision, ensure safety, plan effectively, and solve problems to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Shift Information/ Schedule/ Location:
This position based in the Minneapolis - Saint Paul, Minnesota area.  Periodically, travel may be required.  For larger projects, this may include travel of several weeks at a time. This role may also involve many one-day local projects involving short notice.   Work schedule will vary depending on assigned projects.

Qualifications:
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license
  • A high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, construction, or as a mechanic or millwright.
  • Experience and knowledge related to safely lifting, moving, and securing heavy machinery and equipment using standard rigging tools and methods.
  • Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as cranes, forklifts, hoists, and hydraulic jacks.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including how machinery works, to effectively install, maintain, and repair it.
  • Skills and experience in welding and metal fabrication
  • Expertise in using hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly and effectively
  • Capability to assess situations and determine the best approach for handling complex machinery and tasks, and the flexibility to adjust to changing project requirements or unexpected challenges on the job site.
  • Knowledge of industry safety protocols, particularly OSHA standards
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with other millwrights, trades, engineers, and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Conditions: occasional outdoor sites with potential inclement weather, exposure to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Must be able to safely operate tools and machinery.
  • Must be willing and able to travel nationally as needed.
