Job Summary
The Center for Academic Success (CAS) seeks an Outreach Assistant who will work closely with other CAS staff to coordinate CAS outreach programming and special events. The ideal candidate is student-focused, organized, and detail-oriented and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate must have public speaking experience and be comfortable presenting information to small and large groups.

Responsibilities
Facilitate and Conduct Academic Success WorkshopsFacilitate and Conduct Academic Success Workshops (ASWs)

Work with professional staff to design/re-design academic success workshops (ASWs), connecting them to student learning outcomes.
Conduct at least 75% of academic success workshops.
Coordinate all communications, marketing/promotions, and planning for ASWs.
Collect and analyze ASW assessment data and prepare annual report.
Assist in the development of online workshops.
Facilitate and Conduct Class and Orientation Presentations

Organize scheduling and conduct at least 75% of CAS outreach presentations.
Respond to invitations for class visits and conduct class presentations.
Work with professional staff to design/re-design class presentations and research and implement presentation topics, connecting them to student learning outcomes.
Coordinate all communications, marketing/promotions, and planning for class presentations.
Conduct various informational sessions during New Student Orientations on behalf of CAS.
Promote student awareness of CAS and all programs/services offered through campus events, information tables, and class visits.
Design and coordinate CAS faculty & staff marketing material and social media

Coordinate with other CAS staff members to design, write, edit & distribute internal communications to students & faculty concerning CAS happenings.
Coordinate all social media efforts related to CAS.
Other special projects as assigned.

May assist with phone outreach to students.
Other projects as needed

Required Qualifications
Must maintain a professional appearance and outgoing attitude while representing the CAS.
Must be able to think independently consistently, creatively, and outside of the box at times.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
Must be a flexible team player.
Must be mature and self-disciplined.
Must be a strong public speaker.
The Outreach Assistant must be available to work occasional evening and weekend hours each week through the end of the semester.

Preferred Qualifications
Graphic design or creative skills are a plus.
