Description

Highly skilled mechanic who safely perform diagnostic, maintenance, installation and repair of crush and conveying equipment and related systems.
Performs system troubleshooting, maintenance and component removal, repair and installation of jaw and gyratory crushers, vibratory screens, conveyors, dust suppression/collection systems, mobile conveying systems ext.Performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance such as changing filters in the dust collection systems, checking screens, oil levels and lubrication systems.Prioritizes and makes decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.Responsible for maintaining work orders and performing work area inspections.Trains and mentors other employees.Performs advanced welding and fabrication.May operate mobile equipment such as: Forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks.Performs as a Fill-in Supervisor as required.Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Two (2) years' experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts (including welder, boilermaker, machinist or facility maintenance/construction) or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required mechanical aptitude.FPM Diagnostic Mechanic I: The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while achieving 35% score on a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety. Must be able to demonstrate proficient basic welding skills.Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in EnglishAbility to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED

This is a Safety sensitive roleWhile performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, see and work in confined spacesOccasionally may be asked required to life moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workdayMay be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operationPersonal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as requiredFreeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by applicable state laws

Compensation:

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $26.00 - $35.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
