Physician Ophthalmologist

Opportunity for Ophthalmologist (Comprehensive/Glaucoma Surgeon) in Beautiful Southern Arizona at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System.

Responsibilities to include clinical care, resident supervision, and training in both the outpatient and operating room settings. SAVAHCS is an integral part of the University of Arizona Ophthalmology residency program resulting in ample teaching opportunities and an affiliation with the University.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Your basic responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Providing comprehensive clinical and surgical ophthalmological care to our Veteran patients.
Providing diagnostic and therapeutic services in inpatient and outpatient settings, ordering diagnostic studies and procedures, and perform surgical and non-surgical general ophthalmology procedures.
Supervising ophthalmology residents in the eye clinic, short procedure room, laser room and the operating room.
Initiating changes in the system for delivering care based on evidence-based medicine research and /or studies.
Assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating educational programs.
Effectively and creatively teaching and providing guidance to others involved in the delivery of the educational program.

Work Schedule:
Full-time, Permanent, position. Shared call rotation required.
