Responsibilities:

- Conduct patient assessments, including medical history review and physical examinations, to determine eligibility and suitability for radiation therapy
- Collaborate with radiation oncologist to develop individualized treatment plans for patients, considering their medical condition, treatment goals, and potential side effects
- Administer radiation therapy treatments, including external beam radiation, while ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Monitor patients during radiation therapy sessions, assess for adverse reactions or side effects, and provide appropriate interventions and support
- Educate patients and their families about the radiation therapy process, including treatment expectations, potential side effects, and self-care strategies
- Coordinate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as medical physicists, radiation therapists, and oncology nurses, to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care
- Accurately and efficiently document patient information, treatment plans, and interventions in electronic medical records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to radiation oncology nursing practice
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in radiation therapy techniques, equipment, and research, and apply evidence-based practice in patient care
