Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.



Duties

This Physiatrist (Physician) position is assigned under the Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

This Physiatrist will see patients in consultation from other providers to determine rehabilitation needs and progress. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performing procedures such as EMG, NCV, trigger point injections, joint injections, botulinum toxin injections, interventional procedures and spinal manipulation as indicated.
  • Provide Consultative Physiatry care on inpatient respite and skilled nursing facility units as directed.
  • Provide outpatient Consultative care including but not limited to pain clinics, prosthetics, /orthotics clinics, poly-trauma clinics, and spinal cord injury clinics.
  • Provide procedural diagnostic and therapeutic testing.
  • Provides assessment and management for Musculoskeletal syndromes and Myopathies, diagnosis.
  • Provide assessment for Neurological, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular-pulmonary systems.
  • Provides Orthotics, prosthetics, wheelchair, ambulatory devices, special beds, and other assistive devices.

Work Schedule: Monday -Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 p.m. Subject to change based on Agency Needs.
