Information Technology Field Technician (IT Field Technician)

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Responsible for support and maintenance of PC based Point of Sale (POS) equipment, supermarket scales, remote office PCs and printers in store locations
  • Assist in resolving first level technical problems related to POS, Supermarket Scales, wireless order guns, office PCs, printer and phone equipment
  • Update and maintain store systems to ensure 100% uptime

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • AA degree or technical institute certification/degree, preferably in Information Technology

Experience:
  • Hands-on experience with personal computer support
  • Knowledge of Server 2003 Active Directory, XP, UNIX, and Linux computing environment software

Field of Expertise:
  • Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems

Skills:
  • Must have strong computer skills
  • English/Spanish Bilingual (preferred)
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to do excellent work
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

Requirements:
  • Must be flexible to work on weekends and evenings as needed
  • Must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $25.00 to $31.00 per hour. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications, including, experience and relevant skills.

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time. This employee must also have the ability to do the following: talk and hear; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, operate, activate, use, inspect, detect. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, telephone, copy machine, and computer printer.
