Phase I/II Environmental Assessor: Tower Engineering Professionals is seeking a full-time Environmental Assessor in our Denver, CO/Raleigh, NC/Tampa, FL office(s). As an Environmental Assessor, you will serve as an integral member of our environmental team. Summary TEP is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Assessor to conduct, complete, and assist in reviewing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for telecommunications projects throughout the United States pursuant to ASTM E1527-21 & ASTM E1903-19. Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in biological/physical/environmental sciences
  • 1+ years of field work experience in a scientific field of study an/or technical writing experience in an office setting
  • Working knowledge of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments or familiarity with ASTM1527-21 is helpful but not required
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work with office machinery including computers, fax machines, copier, etc.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional writing and proofing skills
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships within a team
  • Ability to perform field work outside in a variety of weather conditions and terrain
  • Comfortable with solo fieldwork, including airline travel/booking travel and accommodations within a budget
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  • Conduct project research as applicable to the scope of work
  • Data compilation and organization
  • Conducting site reconnaissance, including soils & groundwater field sampling, as deemed necessary
  • Technical report writing
  • Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones to ensure project progress status is on schedule
  • Identify and resolve issues with projects and provide solid recommendations to the Due Diligence Manager and Director of Environmental Regulatory Compliance
  • Assist in reviewing and redlining Phase I ESA reports as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be at site locations (both on the ground and on building roof tops), sit, stand, walk, use both hands, and reach and raise items above the head, use fingers to feel and handle, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds. Work Environment Approximately 25% performed in an external environment, on-site, outdoors, exposed to the elements of nature working under normal construction conditions. Approximately 75% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Hybrid work schedule (three days in office) is available following a 60-day probationary period.
