Position: Management Trainee
Department: Operations
Location: Cumberland Mine
Reports to: (title) Mine Engineering Manager /Assigned Department Head
** Position Summary**
This position is responsible for learning all aspects of the mining process through departmental rotations. This position is designed to develop a strong operational background and managerial skills. The trainee will gain comprehensive underground experience while accruing sufficient time to obtain their State Assistant Mine Foreman certification.
Major Responsibilities
Complete Phase I: 12–18-month departmental rotation. Complete evaluation forms for each individual rotation. Complete Phase II: Longwall or CM single department rotation. Track all underground and surface time throughout training phases. Attain Assistant Mine Foreman Certification Participate in various mine projects.Qualifications:
Qualifications
** Experience/Background/Job Specific and/or Technical Skills Required**
BS/MS Degree in a related discipline (Mining, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Industrial) Prefer Underground Mining experience (internship/co-op) Innovative, highly motivated self-starter to conceive and initiate new projects through daily interaction with mine operators, peers, supervisors, and managers. Individual must be skilled and current in the engineering disciplines. Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain good working relationships with personnel at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of safety requirements in mining operations is essential.
