Position Summary:
The Lead Beverage Scientist will be responsible for benchtop development through commercialization stage of alcohol beverages. The candidate will formulate new innovations, product optimizations, and cost reduced formulas. This position operates in a fast pace dynamic environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Work independently to formulate beverages across Proximo portfolio including global brandsQualify alternative ingredient vendorsLead cross function teams though product tastings and provide technical recommendationsConduct plant trials, develop product specifications, and create BOMs for commercialization readinessProvide technical risk assessment as related to new product developmentManage filing of documentation with TTBScreen, develop, and update internal flavor libraryManage formula P&LsCreate SOPs and ensure proper documentation is maintained in internal databases Participate in trade shows and conduct competitive market analysis to stay abreast of industry trendsWork cross functionally with Marketing, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, Quality Control, and externally with vendors and copackersMaintains good housekeeping and follows safety procedures in the lab environmentLead formula optimization initiativesEstablish protocols for stability studies and support analytical testing with QC as requiredBe the technical expert on high proof spirits and alcohol RTDsExperience/Skill requirements:
Minimum BS in food science or equivalent fieldMinimum 10 years FMCG experience, ideally beverage (soft drinks or alcohol)Flexible – looking to work in a less structured, less ‘corporate’, fast moving, dynamic and rapidly growing business. Open to both domestic and overseas travel.Must have good olfactory perception.Excellent communication skills and able to work with minimum supervision.Experience with beverage technology and bottling principles.Demonstrated influencing skills and technical expertise.Sustain a high level of professionalism in a dynamic environment.-
