Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nursefor the Operating Room Department PeriOp course. This is a Monday to Friday day shift schedule during the 4-month training program.

Program includes:

AORN online modules
Classroom discussions
Policy and Procedure review and application
Skills labs
Clinical experiences at hiring hospital

PeriOp 101 is required for:
Experienced nurses wishing to change specialties.
New Graduate nurses entering into practice.

Performing an average of 7,000 cases each year, the Operating Room at SMJH has 8 OR suites and offers a variety of service lines including Complex GYN, Neurosurgery, Vascular/Thoracic and Orthopedic surgery. It is also the 2nd highest-performing OR in the Sentara system for Orthopedic total joint procedures.

This position offers 8- and 12-hour schedules with required call. The call schedule is 1 day per week and one weekend per month from 7P to 7A.

Requirements: Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing ProgramRegistered Nurse LicenseStudents in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing LicenseBLS within 90 days of hireACLS within 90 days.Preferred Qualifications: Candidates who have completed a PeriOp 101 program.Candidates who have previous Operating Room Experience

All nurses changing specialties or new graduates will be required to attend our PeriOp 101 cohort.
