Job Description

As a Senior Engineer Technology in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), youll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better.

 

 

In this role youll be responsible for:

Investigate new and emerging technologies, design and implement prototypes for early / usability testing and participate in technology forums and collaborations. Produces and maintains required technical documentation associated with work product. Contribute innovative and feasible ideas and solutions by leveraging new technologies and tools. Develop and maintain re-usable components that accelerate application development and reduce complexity. Develop and maintain a comprehensive integration strategy aligned to overall IT strategy. Evaluating Fit for purpose for Build vs. Buy decisions for applications for new business demand and/or platform affinity. Proposing application optimization for externally developed applications Developing technology debt management practices for internally developed applications. Evaluating emerging application development standards, technologies, and practices to integrate into internal development standards and practices. Escalation points for intractable engineering problems encountered by application development teams.

 

Tools and skills you will use in this role:

.NET, Java, Python, or related technical stacks with understanding of software lifecycle. Design of CI/CD pipeline, automated integration deployments, etc. SDLC process for the web development delivery including the deployment of code. Best practices and understanding of integration patterns and practices. Clear interpersonal communication, proofreading, editing, and formatting skills.


Qualifications

 

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

 

Required

Bachelors degree with 6+, Master's with 5+, or PhD with 0+years of solid, diverse work experience Hands on knowledge of application development experience in both Cloud and OnPrem implementations. Proficiency to work at the highest level of all phases of application program/system design and implementation.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes ingood faith it will pay for this role at the time of this postingbased on the job grade for this position. Individualcompensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimatelypay more orless than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/visioninsurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
