Dietitian Nutritionist I

Sodexo is seeking a Pediatric Registered Dietitian for Blythedale Children's Hospital located in Valhalla, NY. This Independent Specialty Rehab Hospital is well known for its nation-wide attraction in providing high quality and complex pediatric medical care.

The successful candidate will: 

• provide clinical nutrition care for the acute rehab and long-term care units amongst the pediatric and post NICU population;
• support a wide range of pediatric conditions that include, but not limited to metabolic disorders, intestinal failure, BPD, cardiovascular conditions, nutrition support;
• educate health care team members, including physicians and nurses and attend interdisciplinary rounds weekly;
• work closely in an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, SLPs, OTs, PTs and feeding therapists; 
• assist the food service management team through routine and enthusiastic meal-time supervision; and
• perform quality improvement initiatives such as patient satisfaction rounds and monthly test trays.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have: 

• Registered Dietitian credentials with a minimum of one year clinical experience; pediatric experience preferred;
• strong comprehension of the principles of clinical nutrition practice, especially nutrition support;
• strong verbal and written communication skills;
• good time management skills be a self-starter and a team player; and
• the ability to work well with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff.

Basic Education Requirement:

Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

Credentials Requirement:

Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.  In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
