Project Overview:
UPF is a multi-year, multi- billion dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy’s largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of control systems components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for control systems matters. Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard control systems engineering techniques will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team. #LI-AA7
Major Responsibilities:
- Assists in the design, development, modification and evaluation of components and processes.
- Compiles, adjusts, and correlates data that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard Control Systems engineering techniques, procedures and criteria utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
- Provides input to and/or maintains technical logs and records.
- Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for Control Systems related matters.
- Coordinates development and presentation of material when requested.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a 4-year degree from an accredited university with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 application suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.).
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a nuclear quality and safety environment.
- Course work or experience relating to control systems.
- EIT or FE certification.
