We have partnered with a wonderful school that is looking for an experienced High School Science Teacher to join their team for an amazing opportunity. This position comes with a competitive salary and great benefits.

The High School Science Teacher is responsible for planning lessons and instructing math to students in high school grades. The High School Science Teacher will provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service, oversee compliance with school policies, and ensure success of instructional programs.

Must be comfortable being in person on campus with students and faculty. 

Responsibilities:

  • Teach classes as assigned, providing effective and professional classroom instruction, assessment, and management.
  • Provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and on enhancing instructional practices and strategies.
  • Establish effective communications and relationships with students and parents.
  • Timely and professional completion of required reports and tasks (e.g., lesson plans, grades, correspondence with parents and students, examinations and quizzes, attendance, etc.).
  • Administer and develop science specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans.
  • Assist with the preparation for SAT and ACT prep.
  • Exhibit a growth mindset about teaching practices and work toward professional goals and development.
  • Help to maintain school policies, regulations, and expectations.
  • Develop and maintain professional, collaborative, and collegial relationships with faculty and staff, as well as with community partners to the benefit of students and classes.
  • Support the work of the Principal and administrative leadership team.
  • Participate in in-service workshops, meetings, sessions, and all other defined activities, as well as other areas of school life.
  • Represent the school at community or public events in the highest ethical manner.
  • Be responsible at all times for the supervision of students in your care during classes and for students generally at all times when on campus or off campus.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college.
  • At least two years of Science teaching experience.
  • Project based learning experience preferred.
  • Private school experience preferred.
