Histology Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Histology Technician to join a dynamic laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual looking to make a significant impact in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic analysis.
- Embed, cut, mount, and stain tissue specimens following established protocols.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining machines.
- Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of specimens.
- Perform routine and special staining techniques.
- Assist pathologists and other laboratory personnel as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all laboratory safety and infection control protocols.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
- Associate's degree or higher in Histotechnology, Biology, or a related field.
- Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is preferred.
- Previous experience in a histology laboratory is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and basic computer skills.
