Summary:
The Warehouse/Manufacturing Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and manufacturing areas.
This role involves coordinating the workflow, managing inventory, assist with supervising staff and ensuring that all processes are carried out efficiently and safely.
The lead will work closely with other departments to meet production and shipping goals.
Key
Responsibilities:
Supervision:
Lead, train and mentor warehouse/manufacturing staff, including assigning tasks and assist in monitoring performance.
Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols, operational procedures and quality standards.
Assist/conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, changes and expectations.
Operations Management:
Coordinate daily activities to meet production schedules, shipping deadlines and inventory management targets.
Oversee the receipt, storage and distribution of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Monitor and manage inventory levels, including conducting regular cycle counts and audits.
Ensure proper maintenance and operation of equipment/machinery.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Work with the management team to develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing practices.
Quality Control:
Ensure all products are manufactured and stored in compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
Address and resolve any quality issues that arise.
Implement corrective actions to prevent future quality issues.
Safety Compliance:
Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing company policies and OSHA regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any potential hazards.
Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate records of production, inventory.
Generate and submit regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to Plant Manager.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or manufacturing operations, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse management software (SAP) is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Solid understanding of warehouse and manufacturing processes and best practices.
Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Capable of standing, walking, and moving for extended periods.
Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (e.
g.
, hot, cold, noisy).
Work Environment:
The role requires working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and machinery.
