Cata Labs, the team behind Catalyst, is seeking a talented Senior Smart Contract Developer (Web3 Engineer) to join our growing team. As a Smart Contract Developer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the smart contracts that power Catalyst, our permissionless cross-chain Automated Market Maker (AMM). If you are passionate about blockchain technology and have a deep understanding of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and cross-chain interoperability, we invite you to be part of our team.


As part of our contracts team, you will contribute directly to the next generation of cross-chain applications. You will apply existing smart contract skills and learn how to build cross-chain applications for the next generation of modular chains. As part of designing cross-chain applications, you will also create specs for off-chain components to further enhance the user experience when interacting with Catalyst applications. Multi-blockchain should feel like a single blockchain.


Responsibilities


Design, develop, and test smart contracts on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)Collaborate with the engineering team to implement cross-chain interoperability solutions, enabling seamless asset swaps and liquidity connections across multiple blockchainsOptimize smart contract code for efficiency and security, ensuring high performance and robustnessConduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and maintain high-quality code standardsWork closely with other developers to integrate smart contracts with front-end applications and back-end servicesDevelop off-chain systems that support on-chain functionality

Requirements


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related fieldSolid understanding of blockchain technology and cross-chain interoperability conceptsStrong proficiency in EVM development, including experience with Solidity and FoundryPrior experience in developing and deploying smart contracts on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)Experience with cross-chain interoperability protocols, such as Wormhole, LayerZero, or similarUnderstanding of token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, etc.) and their implementation in smart contractsThorough understanding of security best practices for smart contract developmentFamiliarity with blockchain explorers and monitoring tools for smart contract debugging and analysisExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug and resolve complex smart contract issuesStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a remote team
