  • To operate the vessel and tow in a safe and prudent manner.
  • Must have proper USCG Merchant Mariner's credentials
  • Must have a TWIC Card, Radio License and Radar Observer Certificate appropriate for area of operations
  • The Pilot, as well as all crew members, is responsible for the safety of the towing vessel and is responsible for compliance with the safety management system.
  • The Pilot is responsible for reporting unsafe conditions and nonconformities to the Port Captain,for taking action to prevent accidents, and ensuring appropriate resolution.
  • The Pilot shall navigate the vessel in full compliance with USCG Rules and Regulations andcompany policies
  • While on watch the Pilot is responsible for the safety and welfare of the vessel, its crew and tow.
  • Report any incidents or pertinent information to the vessel Captain
