Working Title: Instructor of Creative Writing
Job Summary: The Department of English is seeking a full-time instructor with demonstrated experience teaching creative writing with an emphasis in fiction or nonfiction with a demonstrated ability to teach in a second genre as well at the General Education, upper-division, and graduate level. The successful candidate will teach both face-to-face and online courses. The teaching load will be 4-4 with four sections of creative writing per fall and spring semester. All full-time faculty participate in providing service to the department. The successful candidate will join a vibrant community committed to student learning and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications: Holds at least the master's degree in an appropriate specialization or the equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and is otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. The appointee may engage in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities, but is not eligible for tenure.
Position Qualifications: Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing with a concentration in Creative Writing from an accredited institution or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.
Preferred Qualifications Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing or Doctoral degree with a concentration in Creative Writing from an accredited institution. Demonstrated publication record in fiction or nonfiction
in competitively edited literary journals or through book publication with a reputable literary press. Demonstrated experience teaching creative writing. Demonstrated facility with integrating technology into teaching practice. Demonstrated experience with editing and production of national and/or campus literary journals as well as experience organizing a reading series and other creative writing events. The department is especially interested in candidates qualified to teach fiction, creative nonfiction, or playwriting.
