What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be a part of the Process Development Drug Substance Technology group at Amgens FleX Batch Biologics Manufacturing Facility. The Process Development Associate will help design and perform experiments at the bench scale that span the end-to-end Drug Substance process, covering cell culture and/or purification operations. In this role, you will apply established platform approaches and use problem-solving skills to rapidly solve day-to-day experimental challenges. Additionally, the Process Development Associate will use thinking out-of-the-box to contribute to technology development and will demonstrate the desire to expand and develop expertise in cell culture and/or purification, thereby further contributing to the integrated group.

  • Apply a fundamental understanding of Upstream (Cell Culture) bioprocessing to support biologics technology transfer, process validation, and plant start-up
  • Support continuous process verification, process monitoring, optimization, complex investigation, and product life cycle management
  • Ensure safety and compliance of process development activities
  • Provide process on floor process support as required
  • Provide support for regulatory filing, inspection, and other CMC activities

    Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED and 6 years of biologics process development or commercial-scale technical support experience OR
Associates Degree and 4 years of biologics process development or commercial-scale technical support experience ORBachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biomedical, or related Engineering; Life Sciences; or other relevant sciencesUnderstanding of cell culture or protein purification/separation principlesUnderstanding of process scale-up, technology transfer, troubleshooting, and complex investigationStrong oral and verbal communication skills, interact effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholdersFamiliarity in statistical analysis, analytical methods, and product quality attributes related to biological processing
