What you will be doing
This position will direct a small team and have a lead role in life product valuation including IUL, UL, BOLI, term, whole life, and DI including modeling in AXIS, quarterly reporting and annual reporting.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Developing people management skills and being capable of leading valuation activities with minimal supervision
- Providing subject expertise to other functional areas of the company (ex. Risk and capital management, investments, pricing, marketing, compliance, legal and IT)
- Developing familiarity with the company's current and previously used products
- Supporting the Appointed Actuary
- Documenting valuation results for reporting to senior management
- Making improvements to processes

Requirements
What you need to be successful
- A bachelors degree and attainment of FSA or ASA are required
- At least eight years in an actuarial role
- Minimum of two years of valuation with specific experience in life products
- Familiarity with dividend paying whole life producents and adjusting dividend scales
- Experience with Axis preferred
- Demonstrated self starter, highly organized and able to lead projects without supervision
- Strong leadership and problem solving skills
