Description
Greenville University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Sports Management faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning Fall 2024. The successful candidate will provide an experiential learning environment that is innovative and relevant. Offering a bachelor’s degrees in sports management, the department participates in a highly energetic and synergistic academic environment. The career focused curriculum aims to equip creative problem-solvers, communicators, and collaborators. The selected candidate must provide evidence of a vibrant Christian faith, clearly understand and internalize the mission of Greenville University, and articulate the value of Christian higher education.

The primary foci are teaching excellence and mission alignment. In cooperation with other faculty in the department and school, the candidate will develop and deliver innovative courses at the undergraduate level. The ideal candidate will be able to grow and nurture community partnerships to further develop experiential learning opportunities for students. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide supervision and guidance of sport management internships. The modality is primarily face-to-face. A passion for working with undergraduate students in the Christian higher education setting is essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF FACULTY:

1. Teach 12-13 credit per fall and spring semesters.

2. Serve as Sports Management program director.

3. Contribute to the development of current and future programs.

4. Operate computer technologies relevant to the discipline to cover face-to-face, hybrid, and on-line course formats.

5. Supervise and advise students.

6. Perform University service including committee work as assigned.

7. Engage in department and campus service activities.

8. Participate in professional development, including faith development, pedagogy, grant writing, and research activities.

9. Assist with recruiting and marketing activities to build student awareness of the major, and student retention efforts.

10. Commit to the development and execution of experiential learning opportunities.

11. Excellent teaching skills and practical experience in the related course material is expected.

12. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to relate complex concepts to diverse audiences, and demonstrated cultural competency.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

A Ph.D. degree Sport Management or closely related fields is preferred.
Consideration will be given to candidates holding a master’s degree in a related field, with industry experience and teaching experience.
Experience in college-level teaching and scholarship is highly desired.
The successful candidate will have content expertise and teaching passion to develop the creative minds of undergraduate students in the sport management disciplines within a Christian worldview.
