Job Description

Provide direct patient care in accordance with Global Medical Response protocols and/or medical direction.

Scheduling and Locale

· Off days consist of one four day block every two week pay period.

· Must live within one hour from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

· Use a systematic, critical-thinking approach to guide patient assessment, intervention, and evaluation of patient outcomes.

· Maintain clinical competence and continuing education for age specific populations in which care is provided.

· Collaborate and effectively communicate with various health care members.

· Attend and participate in base meetings and educational offerings according to established guidelines.

· Execute assigned tasks in an efficient manner and perform in a fast-paced environment.

· Comply with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical and flight personnel, patient, and equipment.

Qualifications

· Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor of Nursing preferred.

· Minimum of three years recent experience in the critical care setting. Five years preferred.

· Valid nursing license from state of primary practice. Compact license preferred.

· Current driver’s license.

· Current passport.

· Current American Heart Association certifications – BLS, ACLS, PALS

· Current Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Provider – or should be obtained within 30 days of hire.

· Transport Provider Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC) preferred – or should be obtained within 1 year of hire date.

· Advanced Certification (CFRN or CTRN) preferred – or should be obtained within 2 years of hire date.
