To handle growth activity as well as the continuous evaluation and improvement of systems and processes, the company is looking to hire a financial leader who will serve as a partner to the CFO and CAO and act as a leader within the finance and accounting departments. TRC is seeking someone who brings a very proactive orientation and is willing to roll up his/her sleeves. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of an industry-leading business led by a highly motivated and dynamic CEO with strong support from a private equity partner.
Job Summary: This role reports directly to the TRC Chief Accounting Officer and has significant visibility and interaction with the CFO. This high-visibility position will interface with TRC management and operations. The Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, providing strategic insights to senior management, and driving financial efficiency across the organization. The position is primarily responsible for overseeing the Corporate Accounting department, including general ledger, tax, billing and project accounting.
This role will be a key member of the finance group contributing to analytical insights in advance of month-end reporting as well as assessment post-close at the consolidated and functional / operating unit level. The position will have several direct reports, with the potential for team growth in the near future.

- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Provide insights into financial performance, variances, and trends to senior management, as well as reporting packages to the company's private equity partner.
- Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
- Review all new accounting standards to understand impact and implement adoption, if applicable.
- Project Accounting and Billing:
- Participation in project reviews to ensure projects are performing in line with as-bid margin, support in identifying risk and ensuring EACs are appropriately captured within monthly financial reporting.
- Facilitate review of project results and support resolution of project variances.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and filings.
- Oversee and manage relationship with outsourced tax firm to ensure ongoing compliance with all tax filings, corporate and indirect.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, and processes.
- Cross-Functional Project Support
- Collaborate with other departments on strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects, providing financial expertise and guidance.
- Evaluate financial implications of proposed projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and financial objectives.
- Serve as a key liaison between finance and other departments to streamline processes and optimize resource allocation.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Foster collaboration and cross-functional partnerships to support company-wide financial goals.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field, preferred
- 7+ years of experience in accounting with experience
- Experience in public accounting preferred and/or Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant)
- Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager
- Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and adjust to changing priorities.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
