Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced support to automation line to meet machine availability, performance and quality metrics
- Troubleshoot problems with processes and hardware including pneumatics, electrical, PLC logic, vision cameras, barcode scanners, robotics, servo axis and networking/database
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors in order to resolve complex problems and implement solutions
- Perform PLC logic, robotic and HMI program modifications to support product changes and/or machine optimization
- Maintain program backups for all automation equipment
- Plan preventive maintenance
- Analyze machine performance metrics and identify room for continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, or computer-generated reports.
- Knowledge of electrical controls, pneumatic, hydraulic operation
- Ability to work independently and maintain project timelines with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with PLCs software tools, HMIs, and sensors
- Proficient with robots; AAB, Epson, Kawasaki, Fanuc
- Problem solving
- Ability to handle stress and adapt based on production needs.
Candidates must reside in the Chicagoland area to be considered for this position.
Basic Requirements
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Software Engineering
- Must have knowledge of various applications and programming utilizing development environments such as Visual Basic, and C# required.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
