Dentons US LLP is currently looking for a Solutions Infrastructure Architect. This position will lead larger projects related to technology refreshes, cloud migrations and acquisition integrations. The ideal candidate will possess broad based understanding of disaster recovery, networking, database technologies and  have experience in designing highly available Infrastructure services. Expertise in Azure's Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offerings, along with the ability to implement and maintain these systems.  The role involves interacting with executives to translate business needs into cloud solutions, and managing projects from inception to completion.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and manage Azure cloud environments, considering aspects such as scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
  • Leverage Azure PaaS offerings such as Azure Web Apps, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Functions to build scalable and maintainable cloud-native applications.
  • Employ Azure IaaS components including virtual machines, virtual networks, and blob storage, ensuring optimal configuration and security.
  • Use Azure SaaS products, such as Office 365, to deliver efficient business solutions.
  • Implement Azure DevOps and Azure Resource Manager for continuous deployment and management of cloud-based applications.
  • Familiarity with Azure data and analytics products such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Azure Stream Analytics, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Evaluate and implement Azure security services and features like Azure AD, Azure Security Center, and Azure Key Vault Service to ensure secure and reliable cloud environments.
  • Translate complex business requirements into cloud solutions, integrating with existing infrastructure and services where necessary.
  • Present proposals, updates, and progress reports to executives, ensuring that communications are effective, clear, and align with the Firm’s strategic goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of cloud computing specialists, encouraging continual learning and growth.
  • Oversee project documentation, managing timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts where necessary.
  • Implement disaster recovery strategies and create data backups to ensure resilience and data integrity.
  • Monitor performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements if the position.

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Microsoft Azure Certification(s).
  • Extensive experience in Azure cloud systems architecture and service deployment.
  • Deep understanding of Azure’s suite of services, including Compute, Storage, Networking, and Developer Tools.
  • Practical experience with Azure PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS offerings.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Azure PowerShell or Azure CLI.
  • Familiarity with Azure management and governance tools such as Azure Monitor, Azure Policy, and Azure Cost Management.
  • Understanding of compliance issues related to cloud services.
  • Experience designing and implementing on-premises data center technologies like virtualization, hyper convergence, 3 Tier systems and storage technologies.
  • Experience with disaster recovery and backups.
  • Desirable to have experience in Network & Telecom systems.
  • Experience in creating documentation of existing environments and new technologies.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record in delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including executives and technical teams.
  • Ability to interact with end users, IT staff and management at various technical levels
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a high-pressure environment.
